Right now, the breed I have is southern painted, because its the smallest breed as adults. Very tiny now, but will grow to be about the size of a mango in adulthood.
Where did I order? Its called "Backwater Reptiles" online. They send the turtles to you via over-night shipping. Got mine back in April, 2014.
I also ordered another baby Southern Painted turtle, and a Western Painted turtle on August 19thm 2014. Sooo cute, they were the tiniest ever!
I did not go to a pet store, because they usually offer breeds that are small right now, but will be far too big as adults. For many people, ordering turtles online is better, because you have a much wider selection of breeds than what a local pet store would offer, so you can really shop around and get the ones that are right for you.
